Social Networking Lands Me Guest Appearance On Radio Show
The Internet is a fascinating place that gives you the ability to meet, talk to and create relationships with people, tons of people, that you would never have thought possible 10, 15, or 20 years ago. We now have the ability to be “connected” and I mean really connected with anyone and everyone from across the globe. This phenomenon is called “social networking.”
So where am I going with this? Well, about 2 months ago, I formed a new relationship with a gentleman by the name of JL Godfrey and today, I am actually going to be on a live radio show, his radio show called “Make It Happen Radio.”
So how did this radio show host who is based out of Nashville, Tennessee find me? The same way he has attracted and built relationships to gather the 3,000+ listeners and followers on his radio show…social networking. He actually found me through a YouTube video that I did about 6 months ago entitled “Getting Comfortable With The Uncomfortable.” JL liked the concepts in the video so much that he decided to invite me on for a segment to speak specifically about getting comfortable with the uncomfortable, and how it has played a role in my life. At the end of the day, this has turned out to be a win-win situation because JL is able to bring a special guest onto his show to talk about a topic that his listeners will benefit and grow from (which is part of JL’s mission) and for me, I’m able to continue to grow my personal brand.
But what does getting comfortable with the uncomfortable mean exactly? Well, it means taking on certain things that you have no idea how they are going to turn out or end up, which can make you uncomfortable. In other words, I am talking about unpredictable situations.
So when it comes to social networking, this can be a daunting place to jump into because there is so much going on. There are so many different networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Myspace, Betternetworker, FriendFeed, and the list goes on an on. But if you want to join these networking sites for the sole purpose of networking and connecting with like-minded people, it’s going to take some effort, time, and a plan and a willingness to see that plan through. This stuff doesn’t just form overnight, but if you have the persistence of a JL Godfrey, then you too can build a following of thousands if not tens of thousands of people. This is how you make it big. This is how you can build a qualified following who trust you and trust in what you have to say. Social networking is without a doubt the way now to build trusted relationships and connections and networks all over the globe.
If you want to listen to the Live radio show on Thursday, September 10th with JL Godfrey and special guest “yours truly,” be sure to click here (look for title that says “Episode On Air” and click play). The show starts at 4:30 PM PST and will last about one hour. See you there.
